Etihad has started operating international flights to many destinations now. Every airline wants its passengers to be COVID-19 free. For that, they have introduced several protocols to keep the passengers and crew safe from infection. If you are traveller flying to UAE, you must be COVID-19 free. Many countries have made it mandatory for the passengers to carry a certificate saying they are COVID-19 free. Looking at the same, Etihad has introduced COVID-19 tests to be conducted at its passenger’s home. This is to make the tests more convenient and safe as the passengers don’t need to step out of their homes anymore. The airline has partnered with Mediclinic Middle East. Etihad Helping Passengers to Test COVID-19 at Home

Once you have booked a flight with Etihad, you can contact Mediclinic to test you for COVID-19 infection. You can do so right from your home. Give a call or book the test online by emailing the details to [email protected]. Etihad has recommended passengers to take the test at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight. For the test, a health professional from Mediclinic will come to your home. He/she will conduct the test which will hardly take a few seconds. The results will be available to the passenger within 24 hours.

If the Passengers Tests Come Out Positive

If the passenger’s test comes out negative, then they are free to continue with their plans. Etihad crew will verify your results for certain destinations. So the passengers are advised to print the result and carry it with them. This will ensure a hassle-free flight experience. But in case the result comes out to be positive for the passenger, then they can’t board the flight. The department of health will be notified as well about the test result. Passengers tested positive will have to reschedule their flights. Along with that, they will have to follow the strict quarantine guidelines set by the UAE. These new measures are included in the Etihad Wellness Programme.
