Singapore Airlines will resume operating two daily A380 flights to Sydney while bringing back its quad jet service to Melbourne and Hong Kong. It occurred shortly after it was disclosed that starting in May of next year, Singapore-Frankfurt-New York JFK would transition to the 777-300ER.

The double-decker is a common mode of transportation for Singapore Airlines between Melbourne and Hong Kong. From June 2009 to February 2020, it was continuously used on the Hong Kong route. It was sent to Melbourne from September 2009 until March 2020.

It will use the A380 for two of its four daily flights to Sydney. The following schedule, with all timings local, will be followed by the carrier in Sydney:
Singapore to Sydney:
SQ231: 00:45-10:25; A380
SQ241: 07:15-16:55; A350-900
SQ211: 09:35-19:15; 777-300ER
SQ221: 20:20-05:55 (+1); A380 (the new second daily; replaces the A350-900)
Sydney to Singapore:

Returning Sydney to a two-times-daily A380 schedule is equivalent to bringing it back to its regular schedule, as it was with Melbourne and Hong Kong. Cirium claims that it began operating with two daily flights in November 2010 and continued doing so until May 2014. From November 2016, the double daily was once more regularly run, with the final run occurring in February 2020.
